Just like the enemy needs access points to operate in the natural, we also need an access point into the spiritual realm. Our access point into the Kingdom of God is Jesus Christ. Join us as we talk about how we access the Kingdom of God through Christ, and what that means for our prayer life.

In order for us to walk with God we have to learn to elevate God's will above our thoughts, feelings and emotions. However, this is only the beginning - the key to long term success is learning to stay in communion with God every day so that our lamp is always full of oil. When we are full then we can continue to pour out in the areas where God is calling us to minister.

There is a period of time between the moment when God plants something in your life and the appointed time of harvest. During that waiting period, you have the materials (the word of God and faith) to lay the foundation needed to build upon in the next season. Remember to let the foundation set and know that you are building with Heavenly materials that don't rust, rot, or deteriorate.

Why God Is Asking For Our Whole Heart

Today's encouragement is based on Psalm 24:3-4 where it says, "Who can ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully." NKJV. Together we explore the implications of this scripture and come to the conclusion that God is looking for our whole heart, not a divided heart, or divided love.
Day 4 - Wake Up!!

"As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore, be zealous and repent." - Revelation 3:19

Today is about passion and repentance.

The church in this passage was not in trouble with God because they left the faith. They were in trouble because they became satisfied with the status of life they'd achieved. As such, they no longer felt the need to draw near to God because they were happy with where they were.

I call it the sin of the plateau.

Today is about passion and repentance.

The church in this passage was not in trouble with God because they left the faith. They were in trouble because they became satisfied with the status of life they'd achieved. As such, they no longer felt the need to draw near to God because they were happy with where they were.

If you look at the word zealous in this scripture and you translate it back to its original form. The word zealous is the Greek word Zeloo. When this word (Zeloo) is used as a verb, it means, to seek. And not only to seek, but earnestly seek. There is a sense of urgency, deep desire, and movement in this word.

Even when you look at the meaning of the word zeal in English it means to have great enthusiasm or energy in pursuit of a cause or objective.

Whoa. Mindset shift. We need to WAKE UP!!!

This is not our final destination.

Let us not allow our achievements to replace our need for God. Or, allow our victories to deflate our passionate pursuit of the presence of God in our lives.

There is no victory, freedom, breakthrough, or provision that could ever replace the living God, or our need for Him.

We thank Him for the victories. We remember them to generate faith that God will do what He says in our life today and in the future, but, we don't use them to replace God.

Reignite the fire of your soul! Remember the joy of your salvation!

Pursue God now with greater passion because you know MORE about Him than you did before - and better yet there is still more for you to discover.

Lastly, remember to repent, because anything we place above God in our hearts is an idol. And, anything we allow to be our source when God should be our source is idolatry.

When we repent and pursue Him again we will see God in new ways. He will bring us to a closer and more intimate place in Him.

And that's what we want. To walk closely with God all the days of our life.

         Let's Pray

Father, thank You for revealing to me the sin of the plateau. The sin of allowing "stuff" to replace my desire for You. Forgive me Lord for this and for allowing my status in life to distract me of my need for You. Re-light the fire in my heart that burns only for You. Open my eyes to see where I need to adjust so that I may have a closer, more intimate, walk with You. I love You and I thank You for loving me first that You came to rescue me.

Have Your way in my life and I give You all the glory, honor, and praise.

           In Jesus name I pray,

           Amen

Day 3 - The Little Foxes That Spoil the Vine

         So now you are here.

Today is the day you plan to seek God and pursue Him.

You've set aside the time. You've planned accordingly and right as you're about to begin...your phone rings...you ignore it....but then you feel a grumble in your tummy and think you should grab a snack....and then you're cold so you grab some socks.

And before you know it 20-30 minutes of your allocated time with God has eroded away.

Don't worry, this happens to everyone.

These distractions are the little foxes that can spoil your vine.

The Bible says, "Catch us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines, for our vines have tender grapes."

           -Song of Solomon 2:15

These distractions can spoil the "tender grapes" on your vine. The tender grapes represent the fruit of your relationship with God.

It's very important to identify the little foxes and distractions that keep you from being focused during your time with God.

Does your mind wander when you read? Do you get sleepy as soon as you open the Bible? Are you all of a sudden hungry, cold, or tired, or feel a sudden urge to clean something around your house?

Those are the foxes, and they need to be caught!

Some are simple to catch - like you being hungry or cold. Just address it (eat a quick snack or put on a sweater) and move on.

Others are designed to pull you down a rabbit trail (like answering that one email or text that leads to you doing something else, and then something else).

For the ones designed to pull you down a rabbit trail, do not entertain it long. Address it head on and declare it is not more important than your time with God. Then silence the distraction and go back to your time with the Lord.

Don't worry, it may or may not be there when you emerge. If it's still an issue when you emerge from your time with God then trust that the Lord has given you what you need to deal with it.

The point is, the fruit that comes from your time with the Lord is tender.

Fresh revelation from God is so precious. It can carry you through good seasons and difficult ones. You don't want anything damaging it before God has solidified it in your spirit.

So identify and catch the little foxes that try to spoil your time with God. Then cast them to the side so you can receive fresh fruit and revelation from the Lord!

         Let's pray!

Heavenly Father, thank You for fresh revelation. Thank You that You desire to give me fresh revelation when I spend time with You. Open my eyes to see the little foxes that try to distract and pull me away from You. I declare today that You are greater and more important than they. Give me wisdom to know how to properly create a space, free of distractions, that I may hear Your voice more clearly.

I love You, and I pray these things in Jesus name, Amen

Wake Up! It's Time to Reprioritize Your Relationship with Christ

Many of us fall prey to the trap of routines and busyness. Traps that entice us to push our relationship with God further and further down our priority list. This week, let's reprioritize our schedules and put God back on the throne of our hearts and in the center of our lives.

           Back Story

This week's theme came about as the result of prayer.

I was praying for a friend and all of a sudden I felt the words, "Wake Up!" in my spirit. As I continued to pray I realized how many of us fall prey to the trap of routines and busyness. Traps that entice us to push our relationship with God further and further down our priority list.

This week, let's reprioritize our schedules and put God back on the throne of our hearts and in the center of our lives.

          This Week's Covering Scripture

"Because you say, 'I am rich, have need of nothing' - and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked - I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich, and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." Revelation 3:17-22

Day 1 - A Divine Invitation

Spending your days working hard, sleeping less, and striving to achieve more than the next person is not your portion in life. If that's what you're doing, you are wasting your time! And, God has more for you!

"Because you say, 'I am rich, have need of nothing' - and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked - I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich, and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see." Revelation 3:17-18

It is time to. Wake. Up.

Spending your days working hard, sleeping less, and striving to achieve more than the next person is not your portion in life.

If that's what you're doing, you are wasting your time! And, God has more for you!

When you are in the whirlwind it can be hard to see whether you're effectively using your time or not. Taking a step back to evaluate the situation is a great idea as it allows you to gain perspective. Or, alternatively, some gracious and honest person could interrupt your whirlwind and tell you the truth. When that happens it's up to you to decide how to respond to the information.

Interrupting our lives and telling us the truth is exactly what God is doing for all of us in this Scripture. He's saying we think we're ok, but in truth we are not. We are missing a vital component to life and that is our relationship with Him.

Once we hear the truth the ball is in our court to decide how we will respond. Will we believe His assessment, or not? Before you dismiss His assessment and say, "That's not me Jesus!" take a look at the following points:

God says He came that you may have life and have it more abundantly. Look at your life, are you living abundantly now?

The quality of your life is not measured by the material possessions you have. To God, it's measured by the quality of your relationship with Him. Is your life, the bond between you and God, abundant right now? No? Then my friend, you have a problem.

God is calling us to a place of purity in our relationship with Him. He says, "I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire...and white garments that you may be clothed..."

God wants to give us what we cannot get for ourselves. Pure and valuable gifts that are far superior to what we could make with our own hands or with our own minds.

When you consider your time with God lately have you received any gifts from the Him? Any pure revelation that was clearly from God about His word, or your life? Any breakthroughs that solidify your identity in Christ?

If not, you have a problem.

God wants to heal us! He says that we should, "...anoint our eyes with salve that we may see." There are many forms of healing and in this case God is talking about healing our vision. Our vision which, because of its state, we were not able to see our situation, or the Lord's purposes clearly.

Think about your recent decisions, who is the driving force behind them?

Are you the one assessing all the data points and making decisions about your life? Or, are you having a dialogue with God, the One who stands outside of time, about your life and where He's leading you next?

My friend, if you are the one making the primary decisions about the direction of your life then you are blindly going through life and your vision needs healing! Involve the One who stands outside of time then you'll have vision that won't fail because it's resting on His word.

In His observations, please note that God is not accusing us. In fact, He's inviting us! He's saying, "Hey! I know you think you're ok but you're really not. Want to come over here with Me, so I can help you?"

What happens next is completely up to us. We can choose to humble ourselves and receive from God, or, we can tell God He's wrong and we're doing ok.

It is our prayer that this week’s magazine is an encouragement for you to pursue the "more" in God. To reprioritize your time, and experience God in a whole new way. We hope that through the topics we cover you will be blessed and your relationship with God will be richer!

           Let's Pray!

Father, thank You for graciously coming to me and telling me the truth in love. I invite You into my situation and I pray that You would continue to walk the rooms of my heart and clear out those things that will hinder my relationship with You.

Have Your way and I'm excited to see the new levels of freedom You have for me.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen

Day 2 - The Things That Blind Us

The new season is a great reason to make and keep resolutions. Whether it’s eating right or cleaning out the garage, here are some tips for making and keeping resolutions.

          Make a list

Lists are great ways to stay on track. Write down some big things you want to accomplish and some smaller things, too.

          Check the list regularly

Don’t forget to check in and see how you’re doing. Just because you don’t achieve the big goals right away doesn’t mean you’re not making progress.

          Reward yourself

When you succeed in achieving a goal, be it a big one or a small one, make sure to pat yourself on the back.

          Think positively

Positive thinking is a major factor in success. So instead of mulling over things that didn’t go quite right, remind yourself of things that did.
